I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on what has been an incredible year for me, for MuleSoft and for those that operate within it! And,with the arrival of my daughter Darcy on the 24th May this year (the morning after MuleSoft Connect) it seemed only right that she was included in this blog!

Dirty nappies, sleepless nights and a rapidly diminishing bank account aside…. What a year it has been for MuleSoft!? Connect in May, Salesforce buying MuleSoft for a whopping $6.5 billion, the biggest summit to date in November and finally ending the year with the Docker / MuleSoft partnership…let me just take a breath!
At Third Republic we kept up with this rapidly moving marketplace by launching the first, and now largest Independent MuleSoft MeetUp group in Europe! The London MuleSoft Developers MeetUp group now consists of over 120 members and we have covered topics this year such as:
- API Authentication and Authorisation
- Different flavours of CI/CD pipeline in Mule
- Mule 4 Battle Scars (The story so far….)

Along with MuleSoft Guru, Jeyaram Deivachandran we hope to “up the ante” and host more meetups in the new year alongside the fantastic official MuleSoft MeetUps. We always welcome new members, MuleSoft partners and MuleSoft customers who have seen great value in being involved like ASOS.com. Please join via the link here:

We have been so lucky to place crucial MuleSoft skills on a freelance basis with many of the MuleSoft partners as well as MuleSoft end users across the UK and into Europe. Given this rapidly expanding market this year has seen me invest in headcount to supply permanent skills too, with more planned for the new year to support our customers.
So, to conclude – what a year it has been, and I am incredibly excited about what next year has to offer. If you are struggling to leverage the right talent in the MuleSoft space, then do not hesitate to get in touch!
Here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2019!
