Over the past 12 months we have seen Salesforce make some very strong partnerships, acquisitions and mergers, and that hot streak continues with a powerful strategic partnership with Apple!
The idea of making things more accessible on the go has been a key point in the CRM industry for some time, with technologies such as Field Service making waves in the industry. Now, with this partnership that focuses on creating a seamless integration with your Apple smartphone, Salesforce are making it easier than ever for businesses to keep productivity high while on the go. And besides, who doesn’t like a sexy iOS app, right?
Salesforce are redesigning the current app to embrace the native mobile platform with exclusive features, which will open the gates to Salesforce Developers to create their own native apps. As ever with Salesforce, this extension in their capabilities is being underpinned by a new range of Trailhead course to support the new skill sets. Marc Benioff, co-CEO of Salesforce said
With this partnership, we’re bringing together the world’s number one CRM platform with iPhone and iPad, the world’s best devices for business. Together, Salesforce and Apple are defining a new era of mobile innovation with native apps on iOS, and empowering millions of people with access to Trailhead and the skills they need for the jobs of the future
In my opinion, if Salesforce can keep this an exclusive agreement moving forward, they will be one step closer to cornering off the market. And, with over 90 million iPhone users in the US, Salesforce are making a clever decision by partnering with a business that not only has global clout, but whose reach will undoubtedly have a positive effect on the size of Salesforces’ reach. Indeed, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that, by putting their name to such a universal business, Salesforce becomes more accessible to the masses.
It will be interesting to see how this affects their sales globally and their share of the market they are currently dominating, watch this space………………….
